$20 for 3 solid hours of mixed level (2.75 to 3.25 at best) open play indoors with excellent air conditioning on Courts 11-18. This was on a Friday night 7-10 pm. 8 total courts for the open play (they have more courts in other buildings nearby). If you’re 3.5+, paddle up for the challenge court(s) even if the wait is a little longer. Good people. Friendly staff (shoutout to Louie). Well organized. Clean bathrooms.

Wolf + Bear is a great place to play indoor pickleball. My friends and I occassionally rent a court here when we can't book our normal place. Special mention to Louie who is always friendly, and helpful. We recently overstayed our reservation time (unintentionally) and he gently came over to let us know. This is worth mentioning because other places simply turn off the lights with no warning. (Thanks for being kind Louie!) I have noticed that they recently introduced tier pricing with no warning, so beware that if you book later in the evening, the hourly prices go up. We weren't really happy to learn about this, but what can you do...

I’ve always enjoyed indoor pickleball for several reasons: a) there is a constant flow of nice, cold A/C, which makes a huge difference to some of us, who become easily overheated, b) the court surfaces are terrific and genuinely easier on the knees & joints; they’re sort of spongey, but not noticeably, in play; and there are several other reasons. I’ve always enjoyed playing here; all staff & employees are very helpful and kind. I plan to be playing there more. The monthly membership price is a bit pricey for those of us, who still work & don’t have enough time to play as often as necessary to justify the membership fee, but I don’t mind paying on an individual, per 2hr session basis, when I can play. All in all, it’s a great place to play, and a great alternative to outdoor court play, for those of us who have had enough direct sunlight for 10 lifetimes! Love it!😊

Great facility at the former Calvert Studios. Open play & challenge court options.

I have been playing pickleball for about 4 years. I have never seen a place with so much potential that is ruined by a single person. I have been playing at wolf and bear for about 5 months now and I have gotten to know all of the staff members who are just the best. I am sorry if I missed some names but Emily, Riley, Wyatt, Ale, Hunter, Louie and whoever is apart of this staff team are just the best. They all have so much knowledge about pickleball always give it their best to show the best customer service. The customer experience with this staff is just so amazing. This review I am writing about is about a single person, Bill. Who is Bill, you might ask, he is the owner of this facility. If I could give the staff members a review seperate to the owner's review they would all get 10/5 stars. If I could give an owner review it would be -10/5 stars. I will get into the specifics now. I grew up in a family who care for each other and was taught treat others the way you want to be treated. I live with that standard to this day. Bill, the owner, is one of the most disgusting human beings I have ever conversed with. I once overheard a conversation with a staff member (I will keep their name anonymous), and the way Bill was talking to them was just not right at all. He was belittling them, making them seem small and condescending. I once had a conversation with Bill months ago about the temperature in their three-court facility, which are courts 1-3, and he told me he was going to fix it. This was months ago, and recently I was there and looked at the thermostat, and it said 85 degrees at 5 pm. How can someone play in these conditions? I am paying the premium to play pickleball in a cool indoor facility not some damn hot yoga spot. Bill is to blame for this, NO ONE else. NOT staff. NOT anyone but Bill. I really wish Bill would be a man of his word and fix these issues. I wish he would just let the staff run the place and not even be near the facility. Whenever Bill is there, the vibe of the entire facility goes down. As I conclude this review, I recommend coming to this place playing in court 7 or courts 11-18 and appreciate the staff members for all the hard work they do to run this place. I would also recommend, until fixed, NEVER STEP FOOT IN COURTS 1, 2, 3 unless you want to play in 85 degree indoor heat. This place has too much potential but is ruined by one person, for right now, Bill.
