Washington Park Pickleball Courts are a great local spot for pickleball lovers! The courts are open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis, and there’s no need for reservations, which is really convenient. The morning hours, even on weekends, are typically pretty open and you can usually find space to play without a problem. However, if you’re planning to play between 5 PM and 7 PM, be prepared for it to get crowded, there are only two courts, and they tend to fill up quickly during that time. People often play on a "winner stays" basis when it gets busy, which helps keep things moving. Overall, it’s fantastic to have these courts available for pickleball, and while there's definitely demand for more courts, it's a great initiative that caters well to the local pickleball community. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

2 Nice Pickleball Courts (built 2023) inside Washington Park between the tennis courts and playground. They both have their own entrance without interrupting others while in play. The courts are separated by a standard net divider. Often times there are players as its popularity grows. A wonderful addition to the park! There are restrooms near by in the playground 👍

These courts are fun to play at, but the “advanced players” ruin it by hogging the courts and ignoring the 1 hour rule. It’s unfair and frustrating for everyone else. These people need to check themselves… I’m clearly not the only one who feels this way. Also, this park does reservations for the tennis courts (there’s management that enforces it), but they don’t do anything for the court hoggers at the pickleball courts.

Unclear system for waiting for a court. Our friends were waiting an hour before two people moved their paddles from the queue and tried to enforce some rules (probably from the Hoboken courts) that had never been used in the 3 times they’ve visited that court.

Do not come here if you are new to this sport. This court has no management and is occupied by bulliers who do not follow the one hour rule and instead ask all newbies to play 2v2 with them so that they can occupy here for the whole afternoon.
