The Picklr Hurst

Picklr offers gorgeous courts and a wide-open layout with crisp air conditioning with comfortable seating, helpful baffling that reduces echo, and the friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable staff who provide excellent customer service and help with paddle selection as well - added bonus. Great place to play and learn pickle ball- membership only though with great amenities. Open play and bookable court options- both are available Alec, Grayson and Trista were amazing in taking care of my friends and myself and I am happy to be part of this club!

While in town for a brief period absolutely enjoyed $30 for 30 day trail (now $30 for 15 days - full access - open play, clinics, guest passes, etc) option at Hurst Picklr! Staff, instructors, open play, Pickle Peeps were amazing! Humbled and challenged at night time open play! Loved the heck out of the fundraising social event a few weeks ago - great time. A group working on getting consistent morning play (10 Picklrs today). Do the no contract trail option ($30 for 15 days) to experience Hurst Picklr location. Strongly suggest downloading The Picklr app (check in, view calendar, sign up for clinics, open play, leagues, etc) and GroupMe app to connect with Hurst Picklr family.

I’m visiting from out of town and signed up For the 30 day plan. Sadly there were no other beginners for open play so I was given a sweet setup with a pickleball machine. All Staff were so kind and had a focus on customer satisfaction. Bailey was awesome when I asked to cancel the remainder of the 30 day plan (I’m headed back home to Virginia). He and the gentleman who was at the desk when I first came in (didn’t catch his name) are great ambassadors for the Picklr. I will definitely return when I’m visiting again. Bravo!

I’ve been genuinely impressed with The Picklr in Hurst. The staff are welcoming, the facility layout is fantastic, and reserving courts is always easy. The ball machines are almost always available, which is a huge plus. The event and play schedule offers something for nearly everyone, though it does seem to change frequently, making it a bit difficult to keep track of what’s happening and when. That said, I’ve noticed some challenges that I think are worth addressing. Unfortunately, beginner-level players are often left feeling out of place during open play sessions. There doesn’t seem to be much oversight in these games, and without any DUPR rating requirements, advanced players sometimes dominate play. This can be discouraging for newcomers, and I’ve seen some choose to go elsewhere—like Lifetime—where they feel safer and more included. I’ve also observed similar issues in competitions. When higher-level brackets fill up, advanced players are sometimes placed into lower DUPR ranges, leading to mismatched games where newer players can end up feeling overwhelmed or even physically intimidated. I’ve personally had to console players who were hit aggressively during play, and while I understand that pickleball is a fast-paced sport, a bit of structure and oversight could go a long way in ensuring everyone feels comfortable and welcome. I share this not as criticism, but as an opportunity for improvement. The Picklr has everything it needs to be a truly inclusive, thriving community for players of all levels. I love this place and want it to be one where I can confidently invite new players knowing they’ll have fun and feel supported. With a few adjustments, I believe it absolutely can be.
