Tempe Sports Complex-Pickleball Courts

Went there for the first time yesterday at around 3 pm. I played four games with a great group of people without waiting. The courts really started to fill up at around 4 pm. A few days later, on 1/17/25, I took these photos. It was 6:30 pm, and the courts were full, but the paddle rotation was respected, and I got to play four games before I had to leave.
Eight dedicated pickleball courts with fairly easy group to mix with. Prime time is early morning after 6:30 am until 9 am and evening after sundown. Could use more courts.
Pickleball courts are brand new and the pickleball culture is awesome here too. You can start as early as 6 am and play as late as 10 pm and even 11 pm during the summer months.
Tempe while not a heavily populated city has a big city parks and recreation system. Diversity, size, conditions and availability. To compare with another Tempe park this park has eight dedicated courts. Perfect? No. The other park has an excellent set of tennis courts with one court dual usage. In a quickly growing sport it would seem preferable to have 8 instead of one or many parks with zero. Conditions in large Tempe Parks is as good or considerably better than the greater Phoenix area. Not critical of other cities just appreciative of Tempe.
