People's Community Center & Pool

This is a nice Community Center. Pool is excellent. Would be nice if there was a way that the staff could communicate better on who was leaving the pool to allow others in faster when it is at capacity. Secure and definitely Community oriented. Nice variety of people there. Not a lot of workout equipment. However it is good quality and kept in good condition. The only thing I would add is that the workout room could have signage that says for people to wipe down their machines when they are done as well as a good floor cleaning of the workout area. I will be back there and I appreciate the fact that it's right across the street from a Tacoma Police station which cuts down on any questionable activity at the rec center.

Went to the Halloween event there this year! I'm only giving 4 stars because the event was not toddler friendly, not alot of options for toddlers & small kids.. There was only 2 inflatables for about 5 & older but younger brave kids may try.. The kids playing with basketball h hoop was ALL over the place & running into smaller, less aware kids.. So maybe next time have sections to accommodate all ages & more things to do besides color pages & candy.. Great concept though!

Don’t even look at their online schedule. It’s just pickelball until 2pm. The pickleball guy must own the place or something, the way he tells the ladies that work here what to do. Don’t come here, it’s just a pickleball court. Wasn’t of money and a total regret. I’ve tried to complain about the pickleball guy but why seem to be “below” him. Sad place. Spend your money elsewhere.

The swim instructors vary. You could have an amazing one, sign them up again and get one that sucks.! They dont know my daughter's name and hold up the 30 min session to find a supervisor to confirm instead of asking the adult sitting right there for her name. This place is unorganized and has too much chlorine in the pool. Eastside community center is better.

Great resource for seniors. They have an amazing pool, with a raging river section. Also, they have a senior hub which has free tea and coffee, as well as free lunch for folks over 65, and they have a well maintained free pool table in the senior hub. The staff are dedicated and friendly.
