Lake Shore Athletic Club

My family and I have been members for several years. Comfortable surroundings, helpful staff and clean workout areas. Good place to find if you are an experienced lifter/athlete who needs a well equipped weight training facility. Good variety of aerobic machines in a spacious workout area. Open gymnasiums, tennis and pickleball courts, big indoor and outdoor pools, too. Hot tub and sauna in the locker rooms. The vibe among members ( who tend to be of older average age) is relaxed and friendly.

This athletic club is amazing, amazing staff, and good area. I do hope in the future they remodel it, the building and rooms are older, and it would be nice if it was updated especially since memberships here are not cheap. Overall the machines and equipment are great and easily accessible.

Unwelcoming, apathetic, and rude front desk staff who mock disabled people! I went in today to see about getting a membership for my family member who is a disabled senior citizen with Down Syndrome and I was appalled by how rude and apathetic the people working there are. They actually made derpy faces and rolled their eyes at us when we asked questions about how their memberships work and are billed. Because of this, I would neve give then a penny of our money. For a group of people whose job it is to sell memberships and greet members, I can't believe how hard they go out of their way to be unwelcoming and unhelpful. We had to ask for a tour of the facilities. They refused to talk directly to Warrren even thought he understands English and had questions. They had no interest in talking directly with him or showing him around or telling him about the activities they offer. I told the young man giving the tour 3 times that he was hard of hearing yet he refused to speak up or engage with him directly. The amount of apathy is truly astounding. But, the alarming part is that they blatantly made fun of 2 people with disabilities to our faces. This is discriminatory and I called the red /burgundy haired woman out on this behavior and told her it was not appreciated at all and that we would be taking our business elsewhere because of her behavior specifically. I hope they have cameras so their manager can review this interaction and see the faces she made at us as we were talking, I flipped her the bird as we were leaving because I was furious but she should be fired for making fun of disabled folks.

Lakeshore has truly been my happy place as a busy mom of 3! The ladies who love on my kiddos in the childcare area are wonderful. Front desk staff are welcoming and kind. Love the variety of exercise equipment and classes. Highly recommend this gym!

5 start for all classes including Barre and Pilates instructors are amazing but 0 star for cleanliness of women jacuzzi and sauna floors , class floors. Jacuzzi floors and walls are molded, soo disgusting .I reported multiple time to the front desk but they seems not care much. Updates: it’s been over week and nothing changed, Jacuzzi still looks the same disgusting green molded. I guess they really don’t care.
