El Cariso Community Regional Park

Our first time to this park. Came for a Granddaughter's birthday. The park area is huge and overall very nice. There are cement walkways through out perfect for walking or running. The pavilions are very nice and provide ample room for any kind of celebration! There is a big playground for kids and also fields. There is plenty of shade from the Sun. BBQ pits are at each activity Pavillion!

It's a 5 star facility with a bullet, fantastic park but with a couple caveats. Sylmar in the Valley so I have certain expectations. As a park and rec area it is outstanding. As many as 10 tennis courts, two very nice basketball courts, an olympic size swimming pool. Multiple bathroom buildings, benches, picnic tables e everywhere. Wonderful green space, old, huge Eucalyptus trees, community center and on and on. There's decent parking among multiple lots as well as street parking just outside the grounds. Baseball fields, high school football field, soccer and so on. There was a tent/vendor fair the day I was there (Saturday). I was thoroughly impressed with what this park had to offer. Then why take a star off. Well, it's The Valley so the parks/rex maintenance/cleanup has some gaps. There was some trash scattered among the grass/grounds, a homeless person or two as well. One of them cussed at me for no reason other than I walked within 20 feet of him. Sorry El Cariso but if I feel threatened you cannot have 5 stars. I may go back, it's a pretty short drive from the SCV. I may take a taser. ;)

Our teams play basketball at the gym on weekends. The courts are well kept and all the employees are kind, helpful and respectful. The whole facility is clean and refreshing to see, especially the rest rooms are spotless. A great place yo spend a day with family.

Im from Indonesia and this is my first time joint with the community, my friend christina introduced me to some people's they all sooo nice and friendly people's. They have good programs too for healthy. We did exercice and line dance here.. 😘😍

It's an amazing recreational place for you to go with your family and enjoy the day. It has a good number of playgrounds that range from toddler to teens in their variety. It also has a pool, tennis courts, handball courts and a lot more to enjoy such as the gorgeous scenery and cleaniness of the grounds. I know they have with park rangers on site. They bathrooms are always clean and there are more than just 2, as I have seen as many as the number of playgrounds they have.
