I owe the team at Court16 an updated review after their response to my complaint and review from a few days ago. While I maintain that the private lesson booking flow is problematic, the team did everything within their power to rectify this issue, and I believe that’s what makes a 5 star business. Furthermore, they’re owed a proper review for the rest of their facility, educators and classes. I’ve only taken class and lessons from Coach Dylan thus far, but I cannot stress how friendly and helpful everyone seems to be at this location. From my own few lessons with Dylan, I’ve felt my abilities go from mildly concerned that I’ll smack someone in the face to a basic grasp of “oh, that’s how you almost hit someone in the face.” Control is key, I think. :) The front desk crew is always warm and welcoming. I had the opportunity to work with Saketh for my first private booking and they stepped in again when this issue arose. Saketh is quick to respond and incredibly helpful. I also had the pleasure of meeting Laurie, the manager at this location, and she is determined to make it the best it can be. After a 5 minute conversation, she already had a plan of attack for my concerns and went further to help with a specific request I had. The facility is clean, albeit small which can lead to limited bookings, but really well done. It’s not your cheapest option but I firmly believe that I get what I pay for and, in this case, that includes a clean indoor facility that runs on time with knowledgeable coaches/staff. A sincere “thank you” to the folks who made this situation right. It’s not often I speak up for myself since I work in service, so when I do it’s because I genuinely feel wronged but you all made it right. —————————————————— My review is specifically about their private lesson booking system. It’s supposedly first come, first serve but I wait like a hawk for their weekly emails (that come at random times so never consistent) and replied 30-45 seconds after it arrived. No reply from Jeffrey, last time I emailed it took him 1-2 days to reply, and after trying to call 4-5 times to follow up I’m told that they gave it to a member that asked in person without checking emails. I don’t want to feel like I’m chasing someone down to give them $160. It’s inherently not a good system for booking but it’s especially bad that they wouldn’t give me a timestamp for the booking vs my email reply. After going in circles, the rep finally admitted that Jeffrey probably didn’t check the emails and just booked the person in front of him and that was the “first person” to ask. It’s frustrating as a new client to feel like I’m told to “jump”, and even when I do, it’s not enough for them. Solid booking system for classes but the private lessons that are 3x the price shouldn’t be so stressful to book.
Thank you for the great week spent at LIC 16/Queens. Our daughter had a wonderful time both on court and off court. The supervising coaches RJ, Chris, Lynn were great and also all the others were also very welcoming. A special thanks to Laurie for her absolutely amazing customer support from the very start and to the whole LIC team for making it possible for my French speaking daughter to have a wonderful tennis summer camp week during our summer stay in NY.
Took a group beginner pickleball lesson with Ryan. Learned a lot in one hour and the space is bright, modern & air conditioned and only 1 block from the train. Very friendly and pleasant folks at the front desk. Highly recommended!
Went to play pickleball for the 1st time in NYC and 2nd time in my whole life so far on Friday 3/14 at the LIC location. Staff is super helpful and professional. Instructors taught me how to hit the pickleball and went over rules so I play correctly. Facilities are clean and there are multiple courts you can play. Highly recommend coming here for team building, just for fun, and even learning how to play pickleball correctly!
I’ve been going to Court 16 in Long Island City and couldn’t be happier with the experience. First of all, Laurie at the front desk is absolutely incredible — so sweet, helpful, and genuinely goes above and beyond to accommodate. She was able to move the schedule around to fit me in and made everything so easy. You can tell she really cares about the members. The space itself is beautiful — super modern, extremely clean, and honestly looks like it was just built. I was surprised to find out it’s actually been around for years because it feels brand new. I’ve also taken multiple classes with different coaches here, and every single one of them has been fantastic. Alex in particular was amazing, but really, all the coaches have been great. Overall, just a really positive experience. Highly recommend!
