Colonel Francis Beatty Park (Tennis Courts)

SAT 2025.07.19 ~05:50 arrived, parked, and Out i went on ~4+ miles walk (CW-Loop, Colonel Francis Betty Park, and the neighborhood). High 70s_F .. climbing to mid-90s_F later today 😳 The Park, the trails, and the neighborhood were well-maintained and clean.

Colonel Park is one of my favorite spots in Charlotte! It’s a huge park with plenty of space and a really calm atmosphere. I often come here to play tennis — the courts are nice, and I love that the park is set back from the main road, so you don’t hear any traffic noise. This year I also tried paddleboarding on the lake for the first time, and it was amazing! The lake isn’t too big, which actually makes it perfect for beginners — no big waves, and you don’t have to worry about drifting too far. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place to spend time outdoors.

Been going there for 20 years. Great trails for walking, with or without dogs. As for mtn biking (and running), due to the heavy root systems, use caution unless you're experienced. Very cool features and some fast sections.

Fun for Bike Riding, walking, volleyball, soccer and more. We love this park.
