Carl Schurz Park Pickleball Courts

Where Upper East Siders go to let off some pent up steam by passive-aggresively misdirecting the pickleball like Key Stone cops in technocolor. No vaping allowed, but if you whiff hard enough, you may detect greater freedom wafting over from Astoria.
I'm only reviewing the pickleball courts. There are three, and the nets are temporary. They are set up each morning. You place your paddle in a stack to play and, unless it's early in the day, expect to wait 20-30 minutes between games. It's a popular spot with a lot of regulars and spectators. The level of play is anywhere from beginner to advanced though, typically, you're able to join a game at your level (look for cards indicating the level of the game). I've only had positive experiences. People here are generally kind and considerate. The courts have some dead spots -- the surfaces are not ideal. But there are plenty of benches to sit on, and water nearby.
Recently renovated three public open Pickleball courts at Carl Schurz Park. The info can be found on the TeamReach app. Group code: CSPPB.
Many overly aggressive Pickleball players are now bossing around children in a public park. This group has overrun this park where kids could Skate and play street hockey. The youth are now forced to go somewhere else.
Fun community to play. Easy enough to sign up. Just walk on up and join.
