Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center

A fun place to learn, especially when we can share with our granddaughter. They have small animals that guests can adopt, with a donation. There's an adopted owl and red-tailed hawk outside in a fairly large enclosure. We walked one of the trails and it was fun to follow along on the trail map.

We had our son's 3rd birthday here today and it was amazing!! The kids had such a blast. The employees were warm, welcoming and were generous enough to give us napkins when I forgot them at home. You get your money's worth and there is so much to do. I shout out to the staff, thank you!

My daughter recently attended a short but sweet summer camp at this nature center. She has never done anything like this before so we were both a little apprehensive. She ended up loving it! The staff were very welcoming, they engaged them in different activities & introduced them to several animals that they were then able to help take care of. My daughter had so much fun & loved taking care of the animals! The cost was very affordable & it went directly to the nature center which really helps their establishment. I hope they offer this camp again as we will definitely be signing her up! If you're looking for something fun & affordable for your child to do on their own give this place a call, you will not regret it. :)

We visited this nature center for the first time and loved every single second! It is fantastic inside and out. The inside is filled with creatures to look at, art to make, books to read, activities for kids. Outside gives you sitting areas to enjoy the nature around you. Two different trail options and gorgeous scenery. The staff is also great, very welcoming and informational. We will definitely be back soon. Adding it to our list of favorite nature centers!

November 2024 - came here for Turkey Fest and my children had a great time. After that my two daughters did not want to leave. They got to see Mocha and Kernel. The staff was awesome and thank you for answering my children's questions. They do birthday parties here and they have an archery & trap range. Overall a good place to visit and it's near River Bends Park.
