Bicentennial Park (Pickleball Courts)

12 pickleball courts in excellent condition. Easiest to access from 82nd Street from Byron Center Ave, just south of the power substation. Covered bleachers available to watch or wait to play. Button on light pole at west end of courts turns on lights. Lights go out at 8:55 and park closes at 9. Park has a pavilion, some picnic tables, a playground, bathrooms, and a couple tennis and basketball courts. There is also access to Kent Trails. One downside - when it's busy, people either don't know about the posted rules to let others on after two games, or disregard them. See picture of the rules/etiquette posted at this site.
It's my favorite place to play pickleball! This is where I learned to play. The weekday morning open play is full of friendly people, and they're like family to me now. The courts, nets, separator fences, and perimeter fences are all good quality. This is a top notch place to play in the GR metro area. I've made lots of friends here.
I wish more parks had as many pickleball courts as they do. I do wish they had a time limit on each court.
Beautiful pickleball courts. Surfaces, nets and fences are all top notch.
