I am writing my review to help provide information for those who might be considering joining. My husband and I moved to the area and were looking for a nice health club with a good gym. We toured the Bay Club (Ryan I think? He was great) and decided to give it a go. It was a compromise (hugely lacking in equipment and needing some real TLC) but the tour was great so we went for it. Oops! Bad idea. My greatest criticism is the mould. The steam room (women’s) has black mould in the grout. I just couldn’t think about breathing that in :(. The sauna is thick in dust :( The showers are dirty, think cracked tiles, thick in limescale and mould again. It’s strange because the wonderful cleaning ladies are constantly hoovering and tidying, but I feel they are let down by those higher up at the Bay Club. Perhaps they aren’t allocated time nor resources to deal with the serious dirt (as in someone needs to take bleach and a steam cleaner to the whole shower block). They also clearly need someone just doing repairs and maintenance. Anyway, I am particularly finicky about mould. If you build a shower block/ steam knowing it will be used 12 hours a day 7 days a week, you need a plan in place for grout, tile, shower heads. It needs maintenance. Even just soak the shower heads and repair the tiles. Scrub the hinges with a toothbrush. Beyond the cleanliness (aside: this appears to be an issue across the Bay Club and stopped us joining previously), this club is seriously busy and whoever bought and spaced the equipment is lost. There are swathes of space that could be used in a really effective way (see spot where a single old reformer lives?). The sqft of this place is sooo amazing and this place could be unrivalled in the area. Otherwise the classes are good, very much enjoyed the yoga and meditation classes. Finally, it appears the Bay Club in general cannot afford to keep up with what this club needs. We were told that renovations had been postponed because resources were allocated otherwise. Yikes - especially when I see the portfolio is growing. Don’t get me wrong, staff are great. They do the best with what they have, but I will not return to a Bay Club :(

I became a member three months ago and would very much like to continue my membership; however, I have ongoing concerns regarding the air conditioning and ventilation in the facility. The weight training areas consistently feel excessively warm, with little to no air circulation, creating an environment that is uncomfortable and, at times, suffocating for physical exercise. I have raised these concerns multiple times, specifically requesting improved air circulation, better ventilation, and a reduction in temperature, but unfortunately, no corrective action has been taken. For a fitness facility, particularly in areas dedicated to weight training, maintaining a cooler and well-ventilated environment is essential for members’ comfort, performance, and well-being. Additionally, the smaller studio used for body balance classes appears to have outdated and nonfunctional air conditioning, which further exacerbates the issue. A club whose primary purpose is to support physical activity should uphold professional standards for temperature control and ventilation. Although I genuinely enjoy the Saturday yoga class, the persistent temperature issues in both the weight training area and the smaller studio leave me feeling unwell and frustrated. Regrettably, if these conditions do not improve, I will likely have no choice but to cancel my membership.

One of my favorite gyms! Two swimming pools and spacious workout area. Nice sauna and steam room. Also has basketball court and ping pong tables. And many Tennis Courts, always clean and friendly staff

Parking situation is getting worse and worse. Today I parked my car in the lot during my visit. When I returned, I found another car parked so close to mine that I couldn't even open my door to get in. This was particularly frustrating because there were plenty of other parking spots available at the time. While I understand that parking behavior is the responsibility of individual drivers, I believe Bay Club could improve the situation by encouraging better parking practices or adding clear guidelines to ensure members are considerate of others. I hope management takes this feedback into account and implements measures to avoid such inconveniences in the future.

Cannot wait to leave this gym. The members here are the worst- poor etiquette all around. Members hog equipment while sitting on benches or blocks in their phones, parking lot is chaos with awful and inconsiderate drivers, unsightly behaviors such as loud phone usage with feet on table or people using hair dryers for everything but their heads!! For premium price, this place feels worse than planet fitness. I am going back to Equinox.
