Some Locker hinges are broken in family locker room 5. Hair dryer is close to faucet & sink, and are often wet in the family locker room, which is a major electrical hazard, risking electrocution. Bayclub should install hairdryer holders on the wall. 6. No trash bags for garbage containers in family locker room shower area, which is not hygenic. 7. Exhaust fans in all family locker bathrooms are not working. This is causing difficulty to breathe due to circulation problems. 8. puddles of water not being drained properly which is extremely dangerous and slippery in the common bathroom areas 9. There is only 1 hot tub in the entire facility, and needs an additional hot tub indoor (like it was in the past). In the past there were 2 indoor hot tubs, which were removed. 18. Ellipticals, stair master, treadmills should be cleaned daily. Lots of dust and stains. General Comments: Some Staff Members are rude and need to be cooperative, helpful, and professional to the members. Shared Membership is a ripoff and dues are going up. Parking is full and difficult to find open spots during weekday evenings Family locker bathroom exhaust fans are crucial for removing humid, moist air, odors, and pollutants, preventing mold/mildew growth, protecting surfaces from moisture damage (like peeling paint/ceilings), and improving air quality for better health, typically venting moist air outside via ductwork to the exterior of the facility. Why aren't they working? Expensive and Overpriced club that is planning to raise membership dues, and doesn't offer a clean environment. Cafe was closed permanently without asking members to vote for this important decision. There is no Cafe and no restaurant (only vending machine), and fresh smoothies are no longer available. Bay Club Fremont closes too early on weekends (7pm) and should be open until 9PM. Other clubs such as Bay Club Courtside are open until 9PM. Bayclub hosts many squash events, and members are short of squash courts and pickleball courts. Members are rushed to leave the Fremont facility on weekends at 7pm. Professional gym cleaning companies specialize in sanitizing fitness equipment, floors, locker rooms, and restrooms using advanced disinfection techniques (like spray tech for tight spots) to combat germs, creating a healthier environment for members and preventing illness spread. Why cant they hire professionals to clean their facility daily and maintain it properly? Management should understand the concerns of the members. SEE ALL 20 PHOTOS
Firstly, this gym has amazing amenities, which are the nicest you’ll find in Fremont. The premium pricing is certainly worth the quality of the amenities and inadvertently eliminates the younger crowd that plays on their phones or socializes in groups which often creates queues at the machines at the nearby gyms. However, beware that parking is quite a disaster here during peak hours. We tried to visit at 6:30pm on a Tuesday, circled the parking lot along with 7+ other cars, and then sadly gave up and drove back home. For ~$200/person each month, I do hope more parking is added so that we can actually utilize the gym membership.
This review is for Carla Rodriguez - she is my personal trainer and she is the BEST! Up until coming to her, I’d never really exercised meaningfully in my life and never consistently. I knew I needed a trainer to help and she understood me, my needs, my goals and where we needed to start and how to progress immediately. She is very attentive and kind and fun honestly! She checks in with me regularly and is very good at motivating me as well! With her guidance and support I’ve been able to start strength training and cardio consistently for weeks - to my own surprise and everyone who knows me 😆 Love Carla!
I have been a member of Bay Club Fremont for nearly 20 years, but my experience has declined significantly in recent years. One major issue is the reduced hours. The club used to be open until 11 PM every night, but now closes at 10 PM on weekdays and 7 PM on weekends. This makes it difficult to fit in workouts on weekends if I’m busy during the day. Many weekends workouts are just missed allogether. They had initially reduced hours during covid and just never extended them back to normal? Another significant loss was the removal of the jacuzzis from the male and female locker rooms. Outdoor jacuzzis are not always practical due to weather, lack of proper gear, or comfort concerns in a mixed-gender setting, especially in a small space. For me, this was a critical part of recovery, and now there is nothing in its place. It’s disappointing that money is spent on other updates, but one of the club’s best amenities was removed. Nothing was even replaced there, its just empty floor. The basketball courts are also a concern. One side is frequently closed for badminton, which has far fewer players than basketball, and often the court sits empty. In addition, half of the open court is sometimes closed just to train a single child, forcing over 30 members to play on a half court. Other Bay Club locations, like Pleasanton, manage their space better and leave both full courts available. Given the cost of membership, this feels unfair to members. Another major concern is the TV setup in the upstairs weight room. The TVs are rarely synced or ready for important sports games, like Warriors or 49ers games. Members often have to get someone from downstairs to turn on the correct channel, which is basic functionality that even low-cost gyms handle automatically. The system should allow games to be on by default and be controlled remotely from downstairs. There are also too few TVs upstairs, limiting the ability to watch key events during workouts. Overall, I am disappointed with the reduction of hours, removal of key amenities, outdated TV system, and the way facilities are managed. I hope the club takes member feedback into consideration to improve the experience.
Daniel’s “yoga class” is basically him sitting in front calling out pose names and nothing else. No demos, no cues, no corrections… just vibes. Repeats the same routine every week like copy-paste yoga. Truly inspiring levels of effort.
