Bay Club Courtside

I was a Bay Club member for three years, and it used to be a great place — clean facilities, professional staff, and a welcoming environment. Unfortunately, things have gone completely downhill, and I can no longer recommend this gym to anyone. The membership office has become unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping long-term members, they talk down to people and act like they’re doing you a favor just by answering simple questions. The attitude there is honestly shocking for a club that charges this much. On top of that, the cleanliness has gotten awful. The shower area has black mold growing in multiple spots, and it’s been there for months with no signs of proper cleaning or repairs. It’s honestly unsafe and disgusting. For a premium club, this is unacceptable. Bay Club used to be worth the money. Now it’s overpriced, poorly maintained, and run by staff who don’t seem to care at all about member experience. I’m extremely disappointed and would not recommend anyone to join.

Unfortunately, the facility has gone downhill significantly in both cleanliness and management. The men’s showers are extremely unhygienic—more reminiscent of a fraternity house than a premium club. The sauna and steam room are also poorly maintained, and there appear to be no rules or enforcement regarding proper use. Members routinely enter fully clothed, wearing headphones, using cell phones, and treating these spaces as offices or stretching rooms, which is inappropriate and unsanitary. The pool is often dirty, with visible debris floating in the water while swimming. The jacuzzi is consistently overcrowded, and many users do not shower beforehand, making it unsanitary. I unfortunately developed an infection after using it. While the club itself is a beautiful space, it has lost much of its appeal since transitioning into a corporate, profit-driven operation. Allowing up to seven members on a single membership has resulted in severe overcrowding, and the club no longer feels exclusive. I have canceled my membership for the time being and would consider returning only if there are clear improvements in cleanliness, policies, and overall management.

Overall, BayClub Courtside is a fantastic facility. It is a high-end club featuring two large gyms, numerous classes, a nice pool, and tennis courts. The cleanliness is top-notch, and amenities like towels and soaps are provided. Additionally, the club boasts a nice restaurant, a spa, and a sports store, which add to its appeal. Complimentary coffee is available every day until 11 am, along with a Bevi water machine, which I love. However, there are two main drawbacks: 1. The pool is great for swimming and includes a nice Jacuzzi. However, it is more suited for swimmers than families with kids, in my opinion. 2. The biggest downside is the parking situation. Most of the time, finding a spot requires a lot of waiting, ranging from 5 to 30 minutes on busy days. Although they have an additional parking lot, it is quite far and often full as well. It feels like the club keeps adding new members without addressing this issue.

i’m a gymnast so i don’t go here often, but when i do it’s always a pleasant experience. fellow gym members always share when i visit, which is surprising especially since i’m a lot younger and smaller compared to everyone else. i’d expect them to be hostile towards me since i’m “just a kid”, or “just a little girl”; as i’ve heard. LOTS of treadmills, plenty of stairmasters, two regular bars and a pull up bar. there are also rowing machines, if that’s what you’re interested in 🥴 the women’s locker rooms and bathrooms are great! lots of showers, lots of lockers and room to change, and they provide clean towels, antiperspirant, hair spray, and blow dryers. their pool is also nice but there is no shade in the water, so that’s something to note if it’s something that concerns you. me personally, i haven’t played tennis there before but there are HUGE courts and definitely way too many 🤣 the more the better though! my only complaints are the lack of mobility workout/exercise machines and that there is basically no air circulation in the showers. the showers are very small which means they will get stuffy soon after the hot water is on for a few minutes. not a problem if you take cold showers but it gets muggy and warm in there 1/4th of the way into my showertime. overall a great experience with bay club and i will obviously be coming back here again! 😊

I've been a member for about 3 years or so now. When I first signed up, I was with a group of 6 people and the price was $130/month. Now my current monthly fee is $215 and seems to constantly be increasing. Just received an email notifying members that they're raising the prices again where it's an additional $20/month for anyone between the ages of 30-64. The prices are getting outrageous and unless you go to the gym very early in the morning or late at night, you'll probably spend a good 10-15 minutes just trying to find a parking spot. Seems like a lot of the employees at Netflix are parking in the gym parking lot and they don't have any sort of system in place to keep track of that or correct it. It's a nice gym but getting pretty irked by all of the price hikes and constantly finding new excuses to gauge their customers. Starting to lose my trust and seeing as how I really only use the weight room there, not sure why I keep paying this much for a gym I can barely find a parking spot at.
